About David Babbel

Professor Emeritus at The Wharton School, The University of Pennsylvania, David Babbel, Ph.D., was an educator who has taught finance, fixed income, insurance and risk management for more than 25 years.

In addition to teaching students at the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and executive levels, Dr. Babbel has given several presentations on retirement finance at conferences and engagements in the U.S. and abroad.

As a former senior financial economist in the Financial Sector Development Department of the World Bank, Dr. Babbel had a unique perspective that has shaped his conservative retirement strategies. He wrote more than 100 published papers and articles to help educate retirees on the importance of guaranteed income and other financial strategies.
